Xfirehurricane Chesapeakes

Dana has been around dogs all her life. Her first AKC win was with Del Brave Xfirehurricane aka"Cane" against Bred By Exhibitors and established Breeders who frequent the show circuit. At 9 years of age she put a 3 point major on our dog with heavy competition in the ring and solidified her future doing what many people only dream of. Her experience and Degree in Behavioral Science has only bolstered her ability to observe and deal with the various training requirements and problem solving to be successful. Dana has a wonderful mentor in Sylvia Holderman of Meadowood Chesapeake's who generously gave of her time and property to help Dana. The resume list of achievements contain "Best Junior Handler", 14 Junior Wins, 7 Breed Wins, Several Breed Wins with other exhibitors dogs.Dana gave a presentation at the Largest Dog Festival event in the US "Bark In The Park". The well put together presentation consisted of  Emergency Preparedness and is used annually at a club event put on by a friend who breeds Irish & Gordon Setters.  

Eric helps train the dogs, provides Tech support for all of our PC needs. He is my Wingman and can shoot really well ....Eric qualified as "Marksman" at 14 years of age at the Zouaves Rifle Club.Dana is one shot under him and can shoot better than most. Both of our kids have great arms and anyone who has ever thrown a bumper knows how important this is ehh.

Eric maintained over a 3.25 GPA while attending San Jose State University and graduated with a double major in  International Business & Japanese Language in December 2017.

Since the fire in 2019 that changed our lives, he has helped mom and dad rebuild and put our lives back together putting his masters degree aside for now. There are big things to come for this young man.

Dana Received The Best Junior Handler Award At The 2010 American Chesapeake Club National Specialty With       " Cane "

California has the best waterfowl hunting in the country . Sometimes a hunter can wear a tee shirt or get a suntan in November. But I prefer the traditional cold weather and a strong northwind as most swivelneckers of old . In my younger days it was a chore to get a limit of nice birds but somehow I always did well. Now I'm spoiled as I have all the best in a dog and hunting digs .

Our Best Man, My partner and best friend provides an added season for us in February through March which makes for a 6 month long waterfowl season . This not only rocks the average hunters world , but provides a half year of hardcore training for the dogs . Klamath Falls is cold ! But the awesome facility we hunt from is literally right out our doorstep . I don't know of anyone who has it this good .Bordering the Klamath Rver to the north and the closed zone of the Miller unit of the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge to the west.

My thanks to The Moates family for introducing me to this sport , the dogs, and life in general . Red, Maria, and Jeff Moates RIP . you taught me how to survive and work .
